Home Depot - Bathroom and Kitchen Design Excellence

My wife and I are part of a demographic (aren't we all).  We are first empty nesters, and second we have decide that the home we raised our children is simply too much a part of us to leave.  We are here for the duration and we are taking our 1973 vintage rather typical 3 bedroom bi-level and dedicating it to us.  This process is now perhaps 20 years in action.  This case study has to do with the project, the people, and an interesting matter regarding Home Depot.

When we completed the project at the end of 2010, we created a small portfolio of pictures for the team that worked on a special bath room.  In our price range, the design of a 1973 home had evolved to having a bathroom off the master bedroom, but nothing like we see today.  Our bathroom was kind of a tight-quarters gally.  This project updated the bathroom.  And with the help of Barb and Home Depot, our 60 square foot bathroom has style.  Take a look at the portfolio here, and then the rest of the story.

That was the package I created for the team.  This was all on 8 1/2 x 11 glossy paper in sheet protectors.  The same went to Home Depot.

By the time I sent the package to Home Depot for their comments, the same team had attacked the guest bathroom.  Included was just one page for that.  Again the challenge of a very small space was the mother of invention.

The bathroom project was really great.  Stephanie and Barb did a great design job and procured everything inside the walls.  Michael Harbor executed in an exception manner.  I decided to ship the package off to Home Depot.  That's a story in itself.
