What Frontier Told Me.
Yesterday, September 4, I tried to book a flight from Denver to Fort Myers, Florida. I am interested in spending the month of March with my mother-in-law. Well it happens that Frontier is not booking flights after March 23. Well, that will be OK, I'll book the flight down for my wife and I and then get the return when they start selling tickets.
It seems there were no Rewards tickets available on any of the days. Now we're talking about six months out, so I was amazed. I called Frontier. We chatted about it and I was told that there may never be any award tickets available when I want to fly. Award tickets are only made available when every person that is willing to pay has been satisfied. And since I'm looking at some college break days, maybe nothing will come up. Maybe very few. And I could not be told when, that up to some people in the back room who specifically do not want to talk with customers. Their job is specifically money.
Sounds like blackouts take place and that a year of spending using my Barclay card is a fool's play. I should never have bought into the pitch. I should have been with a cash-back card. 40,000 points carefully accumulated are a mistake. Was I swindled? Probably.
